The Department
of Computer Science, GKV, Hardwar has emerged as one of the
important place for computer education in the country. This
department was established in 1988 with the introduction of
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA). In
the same year Computer Science was introduced as a subject
at the graduate level. Our graduate and PGDCA students have
got themselves placed adequately in academic as well as professional
organizations. After successful completion of five years of
PGDCA, giving due regard to dedication of teaching, technical
and non-teaching staff of the department, UGC accorded the
approval of upgrading PGDCA to MCA in 1993 under the UGC-DOE
joint manpower training programme in Computer Science and
Technology.
In the following years, the
department underwent phenomenal growth in the number of students
enrolled, quality of faculty and computational resources.
We plan to add new technical courses in the near future. The
department is also running Ph.D. programme. Internet facility
has been made available to the staff and the students.
