- Faculty members have published many popular articles as a part of field out-reach activity for general awareness of common man. Some members have delivered talks on AIR also. Some of the members are the life members/fellows of Indian Chemical Society, Indian Council of Chemists, Indian Science Congress Association, Society of Environmental Sciences etc. Prof. Kaushik is currently acting as the Zonal Secretary (North Zone of Indian Council of Chemists, and Sectional Recorder of Chemical Sciences section of Indian Science Congress for the year 2010-11 and 2011-12.
- The department has recently been approached for Industrial Testing by Excise department of Uttarakhand Government and some of the industries in surrounding areas.
- Faculty members have visited US, Germany, France, Canada, South Korea. Prof. R.D. Kaushik was selected as Invited Scientist (Brain Pool Programme South Korea)in 2007-08.
- Many members have been invited as UGC Visiting fellows to various Universities, members of BOS and RDC in many Universities, have Delivered Invited Talks at refresher courses, workshops, symposia, seminars and Conferences, have Chaired sessions in conferences, acting as Referees for many international Journal and are On editorial boards of few journals.
- Following Instrumentation is available in the department: Polarimeters, Refractometers, Colorimeters, Spectrophotometers, Nephelometers/ Turbidimeters, Fluorimeters, Flame photometers, Interferrometers, Conductometers, Resistence meters, pH meters, Potentiometers, Polarographs, D.O analysers, Ultra centriguges, High precision thermostats, High precision ovens, muffle furnaces, water testing Kits, TDS analysers, C&S analysers, Column, paper and Thin Layer chromatography, Electrophoresis, Computational Lab, LCD, OHP, All apparatuses/ equipmets of common use at undergraduate and Post graduate level
- Following Advanced facilities (imported equipments) are available and all of these are in working order: 04 UV-VIS double beam spectrophotometers (Different models), FT-IR spectrometer, Gas Chromatograph, GC - MS, Stopped Flow equipment for Rapid Kinetics, Attachment for converting spectrophotometer into Stopped flow apparatus, Cyclic Voltameter
- Department had been entertaining the requests for recording spectra etc of the samples from various universities.
- Master’s Programme is job oriented and Applied with almost 100% job absorption of students in various institutions/ Industries. This programme includes an Industrial training in IV semester. Masters programme provides opportunity to students for getting absorbed as QC chemists, R & D chemists and Analytical Chemists as well as in teaching profession. P.G. students are trained for the analysis of Water, soil, fertilizers, oils, fats, soaps, detergents, paints, pigments, Cement, Mortar, alloys, drugs and Pharmaceuticals including ayurvedic and allopathic drugs.
