Research Activities of The Department

The department is actively engaged in research in the following areas: Fish Physiopathology & Aquatic Ecobiology, Wildlife and Himalayan Ecology, Environmental Pollution & Environmental Microbiology, Avian Bioacoustics, Biodiversity and Reproduction, Eco-biology and Limnology, Insect Biodiversity, Bioenergetics, Bioecology & Forest Ecology, Aquatic Biodiversity, Pollution & Conservation, Fish and Fisheries, Ecological Modeling, Water Pollution and Watershed Management. Currently 35 students are registered for Ph.D. programme. Fifteen Research students have been awarded fellowships by different funding agencies such as: UGC, DST, UCOST. A number of research projects have been granted by DST (Govt. of India), UCOST (Govt. of Uttarakhand) and UGC to the faculty of the department. On account of excellent contribution in academics/ research the department has been awarded DST-FIST & UGC-SAP grants/ status
