The Faculty of Engineering & Technology was
established with a view to provide technical education in
surroundings of spiritual and Gurukula system of education.
Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar is known in India
and abroad for the process of character building of the students
through their moral and physical development. Keeping the
same ideals in mind, management of the Vishwavidyalaya felt
the need of technocrats with strong moral character, superior
knowledge, who can serve the nation during this era of transition
from materialism to a balance of materialism and spiritualism.
The Faculty of Engineering & Technology was
established year 2000 with introduction of B.Tech. in Computer
Science & Engineering with an intake of 40 students. In Year
2001, AICTE increased intake in Computer Science & Engineering
from 40 to 60 and also gave approval for starting a new course
in Electronics & Communication Engineering with a sanctioned
intake of 30. In year 2002, intake in Electronics & Communication
Engineering was increased to 60 and a new discipline of Electrical
Engineering was also added with intake of 60. Recently, a
new discipline of Mechanical Engineering is added with intake
of 60 in year 2009. Thus presently, Faculty of Engineering
& Technology offers B.Tech. in four AICTE approved disciplines
with intake of 60 each.
